A Max and El AU – A story of escaped homes, middle fingers to the air. Late night motels with dingy bathrooms and over-chlorinated pools. Crossing state lines to create space. A space to live and breathe in, to be themselves. Away from confinement and away from a foggy future of uncertainty where unforgiving family creates the path. They’re on their own, but they make their rulers. A new start, a chance to begin again. Freedom.

The Party as Teenagers AU [it’s not a scooby doo au but it’s not not a scooby doo au, ya feel me?]

When El Hopper first tapped into her dad’s police scanner, it had been an accident. All of the other times have very much been on purpose.

If there was more to do in Hawkins, maybe it wouldn’t have even started as a thing. But the thing is, sometimes the police look over clues to cases that could actually help solve them. Clues that maybe hang between reality and the supernatural. Things that for whatever reason, only she and her friends were able to see. First it was just her and her boyfriend, Mike Wheeler. And then their best friends Will, Dustin, and Lucas joined in one night when they needed backup. El hadn’t meant for the new girl, Max, to get involved — but they didn’t really have an option after the arcade was attacked by strange creatures and she happened to be there as well. After that, the party was bonded in ways they couldn’t even explain and they became inseparable, both in and out of the classroom.

Instead of sneaking out of their houses for high school parties, they’re slipping into the night to chase phantoms and seedy villains that seem to have mysterious abilities. Sleepovers lose the pillow fights and the late night movies, instead becoming cover up stories to nights spent trapped in another dimension hunting down lost classmates.

At its surface, Hawkins remains a sleepy, suburban town. But El and her friends know better than that, and they’ll do whatever they can to protect it. Though it would be nice if they could get a break long enough so that they could squeeze in going to prom as well.

“I can’t lose you again.”

“You won’t lose me.”

“Do you promise?”

“Promise.”

@milliebobbybrown: Hi everyone! I hope everyone has been able to enjoy time with the people they love leading into the holiday season. I am about to begin working on my next movie, and in an effort to focus on the work, I wanted to share that I’ve decided to take a bit of a break from social media. Sending love to each and every one of you.
See you in the New Year!
